As the days get colder and shorter, one thing to get excited about is that sparkle season is upon us. Longer nights, glitzier parties.
But Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner are evidently working from very different mood boards. The mother-daughter duo, both well-versed in the art of high-impact dressing, stepped out in Rome this week for a night at the Bulgari Hotel, where they attended a reunion party for the cast of All’s Fair.
And while both embraced the glittering possibilities of party-season dressing, their respective interpretations couldn’t have been more different.
For Kardashian, the evening called for something rather theatrical. She wore a bespoke Erdem spring 2027 creation, a collaged dress in black and pink crushed satin, with dramatic cutouts, a sheer lace skirt, and suspended crystal flower embellishments that appeared to float across the body.
It was a distinctly Kim Kardashian take on eveningwear, thanks to those daringly placed slivers of skin, diaphanous fabrications, and ultra-luxe ornamentation. Kim has never been one to shy away from a complicated silhouette, particularly when it comes to the interplay between the barely-there and the extravagantly embellished.
Jenner, meanwhile, took a more tailored—and characteristically maximalist—approach. Her Chanel pre-fall 2026 skirt suit married two of her great sartorial loves: leopard print and serious sparkle.
The animal-print two-piece, traced with glittering piping, was worn with a black crop top, knee-high black leather riding boots, and a coordinating Chanel flap bag. She accessorized with oversized oval sunglasses and enormous diamond earrings.
Jenner’s shine came with a side of old-school, glamorous power dressing. Animal print, of course, has long been a fixture in the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch’s wardrobe.
And while Kim tends to gravitate toward body-conscious silhouettes and plenty of skin, Kris has made a signature of sharp tailoring, statement accessories, and an unapologetic dose of flash.
Different generations, different designers, and two wildly different approaches to getting dressed up. But when it comes to glitzy party season, one thing is clear: neither Kim Kardashian nor Kris Jenner has much interest in subtlety.
