Who would survive longer in a horror movie, Vogue’s November 2026 cover star Jenna Ortega or Amy Adams? According to Adams, they’d “end up together, the unlikely duo fighting the baddie.” (Never pit powerful women against each other!)

For the latest installment of Vogue’s Off the Cuff video series, the two stars of Taika Waititi’s Klara and the Sun (in theaters on October 23) sit down to interview each other, bonding over being from big families—Ortega is one of six kids, Adams is one of seven—and discussing the finer points of some of their most famous roles.

A round of Guess the Look gives Ortega and Adams a chance to look back at some of their favorite red-carpet fashion moments, from Ortega’s Thom Browne look at the 2023 Met Gala to Adams’s big Oscar de la Renta energy at the 2013 Academy Awards. (”I just wanted to look like what my 14-year-old self would have wanted to wear to the Oscars,” Adams says with a laugh of that look.)

In the sit-down’s final lightning round, Adams also sings the praises of her American Hustle costuming—a deeply underrated fashion movie!—while Ortega cops to being more of a horror fan than a comedy girl (fair enough; we are talking about the woman who plays Wednesday Addams, after all). “I love working with younger actors because their energy is just so contagious, and I think you have an intellect about you that is also contagious,” Adams tells Ortega at one point.
