Daisy Edgar-Jones sees your trendy graphic tee craze and raises you a vintage deep cut.
The actor swapped her thematically appropriate Sense and Sensibility press tour style for something a little more contemporary today in New York, trading in her corseted dresses and Napoleon jackets for a pair of au courant graphic T-shirts. But Edgar-Jones isn’t joining the throngs of celebrities in Emily Dawn Long’s “Spoiled Boys” tee or bootleg Knicks merch. Instead, she and stylist Dani Michelle turned to Stella McCartney-era Chloé.
Today, the actor wore two of McCartney’s airbrushed bird shirts from her spring 1999 collection for Chloé (fun fact: friend Phoebe Philo was designing there under her). For her first look of the day, Edgar-Jones opted for a white fitted shirt with three-quarter-length sleeves, a hummingbird sucking nectar from a flower emblazoned on her chest. She paired the sweet tee with a pair of chartreuse-yellow leather Jean Paul Gaultier pants and strappy silver heels.
Later on, Edgar-Jones swapped her hummingbird for a more fearsome predator: an austere eagle airbrushed across a navy and white raglan baseball tee. Keeping things in the family, she meshed McCartney’s spunky T-shirt with Chemena Kamali’s romantic vision, wearing contemporary blue silk shorts with lace trim.
While the T-shirts are birds of a feather, they aren’t the only spring 1999 Chloé the actor has worn recently. At the Los Angeles premiere of Sense and Sensibility, she wore the finale look from the very same collection: a cream sweetheart corset top with fluttrey sleeves and a bias-cut periwinkle silk maxi skirt. Be it her graphic tees, corset tops, or lacy shorts, Daisy Edgar-Jones is a Chloé girl through and through.
