Paris Fashion Week may reliably inspire celebrities to indulge their more sensual side—Zoë Kravitz gave naked dressing a fall update at Saint Laurent yesterday, while Rihanna kicked off the week at Matières Fécales in a shimmering bronze skirt suit—but Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham are taking a rather more low-key approach to dressing in the French capital.
For a date night in Paris, Nicola reached for something considerably simpler, sporting a white Cou Cou Intimates Rina top, an Instagram Explore page totem, with three-quarter-length sleeves and a curved hemline. She paired it with low-rise black leather trousers, pointed black pumps, a rectangular shoulder bag, and oversized sunglasses—the latter a practical defense against the wall of camera flashes waiting outside.
It’s a familiar proposition for Nicola Peltz Beckham. Away from the red carpet, the actor regularly gravitates towards an elevated take on basics: little white tops, tanks, straight-leg denim, leather trousers, and slinky ’90s-inflected separates are recurring fixtures in her wardrobe. And in terms of glam, her chest-length brunette hair was worn in soft, blown-out waves.
Brooklyn, meanwhile, offered his own version of laid-back dressing. He wore a vintage white Apple merch T-shirt bearing the company’s rainbow logo and the words “The Journey Begins,” teamed with loose sandy cargo trousers and glossy black dress shoes.
It’s a considerable change of pace from the couple’s recent appearances. Earlier this month they were firmly on the film-festival circuit as Nicola promoted her forthcoming independent film Prima, in which she plays a devoted ballerina alongside Faye Dunaway.
At Venice, she received a Rising Star honor at the Kinéo Awards—an independent ceremony held alongside, though not officially affiliated with, the festival—and the couple marked their return to the spotlight with a succession of dramatic dressed-up looks, like a hooded, drop-waisted, grape colored Balenciaga gown for her. In the time since, Brooklyn has lost the facial hair.
Then came Deauville, where the pair continued a particularly romantic run of couple dressing accordingly paired with plenty of PDA. Peltz Beckham wore an ivory vintage Dior slip dress for a photocall alongside her Prima costar Dunaway before choosing a diaphanous white Alberta Ferretti gown for the festival’s opening ceremony, with Brooklyn beside her in classic black tailoring. So bridal, that their red-carpet wardrobe began to look like an extension of their wedding album.
In Paris for fashion week, though, the Peltz Beckhams are starting things low-key. Expect that to dial up when they hit up Pierpaolo Piccioli’s front row tomorrow.
