Allow Rosalía to get straight to the pointe: balletcore isn’t going anywhere.

Rosalía arrived at the Ritz Paris today ahead of Paris Fashion Week. Though she sashayed through the Place Vendôme, Rosalía was dressed for the Palais Garnier, the Paris Opera Ballet’s home base. Luckily for her, it was less than a 10-minute walk away.

While the singer’s cozy gray cardigan and a black tweed pencil skirt were perfectly standard fare for a fall day, she and stylist Jose Carayol turned to designer Laura Andraskho for a balletic twist: a sharp black tulle tutu jutted out from the hem of her hip-hugging skirt. In place of a pair of pink satin pointe shoes, Rosalía opted for a pair of towering Saint Laurent platform pumps with a glossy black cap-toe.

A pair of outsized shield aviators played to the skirt’s punky edge.

The singer has been on a tutu kick as of late. While she incorporates ballet into her Lux tour (pointe shoe work and all), she’s brought dancerly flourishes to her street style. In June of this year, she offered a punky take on the look in a custom Yasmina dress: a plunging latex bodysuit with a low-slung pink tulle tutu and studded belts.

While we’ve grown accustomed to seeing the singer in pale pink and white, this darker look marks a turn. Cue up Swan Lake Act III because Rosalía is going full Odile.
