Florence Pugh is taking a more-is-more approach to her East of Eden premiere style.

At a BAFTA screening today in London, Pugh hit the red carpet in an operatic black ruffled taffeta Rodarte dress from fall 2026. While Pugh was enveloped by the gown’s outsized, petal-like sleeves and full, ruched skirt—replete with tiers of ruffled dusting her hem—she wasn’t swallowed by the dress thanks to her impossibly cinched waist.

While the dress was plenty theatrical all on its own (it’s what I can only imagine Victorian mourning garb would look like in 2026), Pugh dialed up the drama with her styling. Her off-the-shoulder dress left plenty of room for an impressive Bvlgari necklace with a nearly-30-carat rubellite center stone, surrounded by 68 marquise and pavé-set diamonds and onyx details.

Pugh matched the red stone to her bold lip, and opted for long, waist-length hair for good measure.

Inside, Pugh switched things up for the Q&A portion of the evening, ditching her voluminous ballgown for something a bit easier to sit in. Pugh landed on a slinky sheer dress from Collina Strada’s fall 2026 collection—a diaphanous black dress with a multi-colored floral print. Still, despite the switch-up from gothic ruffles to contemporary naked dressing, she retained an element of old-school glamour with the Collina dress’s draped velvet neckline.

Whether she’s in a romantic ballgown or a sexy sheer dress, Florence Pugh knows how to bring the sartorial drama to any look.
