Marco Viganò is the next CEO of Jil Sander, parent company OTB Group announced on Tuesday.
Viganò will assume his post today, September 15, reporting to group CEO Ubaldo Minelli, who has led Jil Sander for over a year on an interim basis. Former chief executive Serge Brunschwig departed the company for personal reasons on July 31, 2025, after six months in the role.
“Jil Sander is a brand with a strong creative heritage and a distinctive identity that make it unique in the global luxury landscape,” said Minelli in a statement. “Marco’s experience and knowledge of international markets will contribute to the brand’s growth journey, supporting its development and further strengthening its positioning.”
The announcement follows a “challenging” period for OTB Group, which also owns Maison Margiela, Diesel, and more. For the year ended December 31 2025, OTB reported a 5% year-on-year decline in net sales to €1.6 billion, citing a significant dip in its wholesale channel and a continued slowdown in China and Europe.
During 2025, OTB invested in its direct–to-consumer (DTC) channels, which by February 2026 accounted for 60% of turnover. Wholesale sales declined 14.7% on a constant currency basis during fiscal 2025.
Despite this, Viganò joins Jil Sander in a moment of creative renewal, following the appointment of Simone Bellotti as creative director in March last year. So far, the designer’s early collections and campaigns have been well-received, offering commercial opportunity.
The incoming CEO arrives with a strong resume. Most recently, he was global chief client officer and EMEA president for Moncler, heading up client development and customer experience strategy to enhance brand-client relationships.
Throughout his career, he has taken on increasingly senior positions across the global luxury sector, covering commercial and operational leadership roles, including chief commercial officer at Audemars Piguet and chief operating officer at Saint Laurent, alongside roles at Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and L’Oréal.
