Awards shows can be so serious. For any nominee attending an event like tonight’s 2026 Emmys, there’s endless pressure to look glamorous and elegant—and, possibly, to end up on one of those pesky post-event best-dressed lists.
But Hacks star and nominee Meg Stalter had a different fashion vision in mind this evening: She hit the red carpet in a look that saw her transform, quite literally, into an Emmy award.
Stalter—who is a first-time nominee in the supporting actress category—hit the carpet with costar Paul W. Downs in head-to-toe gold body paint.
(It was very much giving Goldfinger.) She paired the statement look with a metallic gold bra and briefs, a chunky gold belt, and a pair of Victoria’s Secret-like wings. And there’s that portable sphere, too—just like the one held by the Emmy statuette.
Talk about taking method dressing to the next level.
The actor, who just ended her Broadway run of Oh, Mary!, is no stranger to bringing a touch of humor to the red carpet, of course. Remember when she and costar Paul W. Downs cosplayed as Kyle Jenner and Timothee Chalamet in those orange “Chrome Hearts” looks at the Critics’ Choice Awards this year? Or when she dressed up as a high-fashion Diet Coke can at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards?
Give Stalter an idea, and she’ll execute it to the fullest degree. And, quite frankly, we need more fun in fashion. Can we give her an Emmy for the best risk-taker?
